Context
Cyprus shares its national anthem with Greece. Written by poet Dionysios Solomos in 1823 during the Greek War of Independence. Cyprus adopted it in 1966, reflecting the island's Greek Cypriot cultural heritage and close ties to Greece.

Σε γνωρίζω από την κόψη
του σπαθιού την τρομερή,
