Context
The current anthem was adopted in 2002, using the melody from the Soviet-era Belarusian SSR anthem composed in 1955. The original Soviet lyrics were replaced with new words by Mikhas Klimkovich and Uladzimir Karyzna, reflecting post-independence identity.
