Context

The current anthem was adopted in 2002, using the melody from the Soviet-era Belarusian SSR anthem composed in 1955. The original Soviet lyrics were replaced with new words by Mikhas Klimkovich and Uladzimir Karyzna, reflecting post-independence identity.

My, Belarusy - mirnyya lyudzi, Sercam addanyya rodnaj zyamli, Shchyra syabruyem, silu hartuyem My u pracovitaj, volnaj syam'i. Slauся, zyamli nashaj svetlaye imya, Slauся, narodau bratski sayuz! Nasha lyubimaya maci-Radzima, Vechna zhyvi i kvitnej, Belarus!
