Context

Written and composed by Michael Francis Alexander Prescott, the anthem was adopted upon Fiji's independence from the United Kingdom on October 10, 1970. Fiji is an archipelago of over 330 islands in the South Pacific, of which about 110 are permanently inhabited.

Blessing grant, oh God of nations, on the isles of Fiji, As we stand united under noble banner blue. And we honour and defend the cause of freedom ever, Onward march together, God bless Fiji.
