Context
Adopted in 1992 upon independence from the Soviet Union, Uzbekistan's anthem was written by poet Abdulla Aripov, one of the most celebrated Uzbek literary figures of the 20th century. The anthem celebrates the country's natural beauty and aspirations for the future.
