Rights & Takedown

About this project

Nationalia is an independent non-commercial cultural data project that documents and analyzes national anthems for educational, cultural, research, commentary, and comparative purposes.

Rights in third-party materials

Rights in anthem lyrics, music, recordings, images, videos, official documents, and translations may vary by jurisdiction and may belong to authors, estates, publishers, public authorities, performers, platforms, or other rights holders. Nationalia does not claim ownership of third-party materials unless explicitly stated.

We make reasonable efforts to link to official or reliable sources and to distinguish original texts, working translations, metadata, and Nationalia's editorial analysis.

Corrections and takedown requests

If you are a rights holder or authorized representative and believe that material on Nationalia is inaccurate, misattributed, or used improperly, contact us at rights@nationalia.org and include:

  • the page URL
  • the material concerned
  • your relationship to the rights holder
  • the requested correction, attribution, modification, or removal
  • supporting documentation.

We review credible requests and may correct, attribute, reduce, replace, disable, or remove material where appropriate.

Independence

Nationalia is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government, international organization, anthem author, composer, publisher, performer, platform, or rights holder unless explicitly stated.

Embedded media

Embedded videos and audio are provided by third-party platforms. Nationalia does not host, control, or claim ownership of embedded recordings. Availability, copyright status, and permissions are governed by the respective platforms and rights holders.

How Nationalia uses AI

AI tools may assist Nationalia with translation drafting, metadata normalization, multilingual localization, source-checking workflows, and thematic classification suggestions. AI outputs are not treated as official sources. Final editorial decisions, methodology, source selection, corrections, and high-risk cultural or legal judgments remain the responsibility of Nationalia. Translations are not official or certified unless explicitly stated.

Dataset and reuse

Nationalia's original metadata, taxonomy, summaries, editorial analysis, and visualizations are available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, redistribute, adapt, and build upon them for any purpose, including commercially, provided you give appropriate credit, link to the licence, and indicate if changes were made.

This licence does not apply to third-party anthem lyrics, music, recordings, images, videos, official documents, embedded media, or translations owned by others. Rights in those materials may belong to authors, estates, publishers, public authorities, performers, platforms, or other rights holders. You are responsible for verifying rights before reusing third-party materials.
