Angola
Angola Avante
Original
Ó Pátria, nunca mais esqueceremos
Os heróis do quatro de Fevereiro.
Ó Pátria, nós saudamos os teus filhos
Tombados pela nossa Independência.
Honramos o passado e a nossa História,
Construindo no Trabalho o Homem novo,
Honramos o passado e a nossa História,
Construindo no Trabalho o Homem novo.
[Coro]
Angola, avante!
Revolução, pelo Poder Popular!
Pátria Unida, Liberdade,
Um só povo, uma só Nação!
Levantemos nossas vozes libertadas
Para glória dos povos africanos.
Marchemos, combatentes angolanos,
Solidários com os povos oprimidos.
Orgulhosos lutaremos Pela Paz
Com as forças progressistas do mundo.
Orgulhosos lutaremos Pela Paz
Com as forças progressistas do mundo.
[Coro]
Angola, avante!
Revolução, pelo Poder Popular!
Pátria Unida, Liberdade,
Um só povo, uma só Nação!
Translation
O Fatherland, we shall never forget
The heroes of the Fourth of February.
O Fatherland, we salute your sons
Who fell for our Independence.
We honor the past and our History,
Building through Work the New Man,
We honor the past and our History,
Building through Work the New Man.
[Chorus]
Angola, forward!
Revolution, through the Power of the People!
United Fatherland, Freedom,
One people, one Nation!
Let us raise our liberated voices
To the glory of the peoples of Africa.
Let us march, Angolan fighters,
In solidarity with oppressed peoples.
Proudly we shall fight for Peace
With the progressive forces of the world.
Proudly we shall fight for Peace
With the progressive forces of the world.
[Chorus]
Angola, forward!
Revolution, through the Power of the People!
United Fatherland, Freedom,
One people, one Nation!

Cantico da Liberdade
Original
Canta, irmão
Canta, meu irmão
Que a liberdade é hino
E o homem a certeza.
[Chorus]
Com dignidade, enterra a semente
No pó da ilha nua;
No despenhadeiro da vida
A esperança é do tamanho do mar
Que nos abraça,
Sentinela de mares e ventos,
Perseverante entre estrelas e o Atlântico,
Canta o cântico da liberdade.
Canta, irmão
Canta, meu irmão
Que a liberdade é hino
E o homem a certeza.
[Chorus]
E a semente que tu enterras no pó
Da ilha nua
Na deserta arriba da vida
Explode no chão
Da fome e da nudez sem par
E da tempestade da fé e da insularidade.
[Chorus]
Translation
Sing, brother,
Sing, my brother,
For freedom is a hymn
And man is certainty.
[Chorus]
With dignity, bury the seed
In the dust of the bare island;
In the precipice of life
Hope is the size of the sea
That embraces us,
Sentinel of seas and winds,
Persevering between stars and the Atlantic,
Sing the song of freedom.
Sing, brother,
Sing, my brother,
For freedom is a hymn
And man is certainty.
[Chorus]
And the seed that you bury in the dust
Of the bare island,
On the deserted cliff of life,
Explodes upon the ground
Of hunger and unmatched bareness
And the tempest of faith and insularity.
[Chorus]
