Fatos importantes

Ha küzd ellenséggel;
Bal sors akit régen tép,
Hozz rá víg esztendőt,
Megbűnhődte már e nép
A múltat s jövendőt!
Isten, áldd meg a magyart
Jó kedvvel, bőséggel,
Nyújts feléje védő kart,
Ha küzd ellenséggel;
Bal sors akit régen tép,
Hozz rá víg esztendőt,
Megbünhödte már e nép
A multat s jövendőt!
Őseinket felhozád
Kárpát szent bércére,
Általad nyert szép hazát
Bendegúznak vére.
S merre zúgnak habjai
Tiszának, Dunának,
Árpád hős magzatjai
Felvirágozának.
Értünk Kunság mezein
Ért kalászt lengettél,
Tokaj szőlővesszein
Nektárt csepegtettél.
Zászlónk gyakran plántálád
Vad török sáncára,
S nyögte Mátyás bús hadát
Bécsnek büszke vára.
Hajh, de bűneink miatt
Gyúlt harag kebledben,
S elsújtád villámidat
Dörgő fellegedben,
Most rabló mongol nyilát
Zúgattad felettünk,
Majd töröktől rabigát
Vállainkra vettünk.
Hányszor zengett ajkain
Ozman vad népének
Vert hadunk csonthalmain
Győzedelmi ének!
Hányszor támadt tenfiad
Szép hazám kebledre,
S lettél magzatod miatt
Magzatod hamvvedre!
Bújt az üldözött s felé
Kard nyúl barlangjában,
Szerte nézett s nem lelé
Honját a hazában,
Bércre hág és völgybe száll,
Bú s kétség mellette,
Vérözön lábainál,
S lángtenger felette.
Vár állott, most kőhalom,
Kedv s öröm röpkedtek,
Halálhörgés, siralom
Zajlik már helyettek.
S ah, szabadság nem virúl
A holtnak véréből,
Kínzó rabság könnye hull
Árvánk hő szeméből!
Szánd meg Isten a magyart
Kit vészek hányának,
Nyújts feléje védő kart
Tengerén kínjának.
Bal sors akit régen tép,
Hozz rá víg esztendőt,
Megbünhödte már e nép
A multat s jövendőt!
Ó Deus, abençoa os húngaros
Com bom ânimo e abundância,
Estende um braço protetor sobre eles
Quando lutam contra o inimigo;
Quando lutam contra o inimigo;
E onde rugem as ondas
do Tisza e do Danúbio,
os heroicos filhos de Árpád
cresceram e floresceram.
Para nós, nos campos de Kunság,
fizeste ondular o trigo maduro,
nas videiras de Tokaj
fizeste gotejar o néctar.
A nossa bandeira plantaste muitas vezes
nas muralhas do turco selvagem,
e sob o sombrio exército de Matias
gemeu a orgulhosa fortaleza de Viena.
Ai, mas pelos nossos pecados
acendeu-se a ira no teu peito,
e lançaste os teus raios
da tua nuvem trovejante.
Primeiro as flechas do mongol saqueador
onde esvoaçavam a alegria e o prazer,
agora estertores de morte e lamentos
correm em seu lugar.
E ai, a liberdade não floresce
do sangue dos mortos,
lágrimas de cruel escravidão caem
dos olhos ardentes dos nossos órfãos!
Tem piedade, ó Deus, dos húngaros
sacudidos pelas tormentas,
O God, bless the Hungarians
With good cheer and abundance,
Extend a protective arm to them
When they fight the enemy;
Those whom ill fate has torn apart for long,
Bring them a joyful year,
This people has already atoned
For the past and future!
O God, bless the Hungarians
With good cheer and abundance,
Extend a protective arm to them
When they fight the enemy;
Those whom ill fate has torn apart for long,
Bring them a joyful year,
This people has already atoned
For the past and future!
You brought our forefathers up
To the holy peaks of the Carpathians,
Through You the blood of Bendegúz
Won a beautiful homeland.
And wherever roll the waves
Of the Tisza and the Danube,
The heroic sons of Árpád
Grew and flourished.
For us on the plains of Kunság
You waved the ripened wheat,
On the vine-shoots of Tokaj
You let the nectar drip.
Our flag You often planted
On the wild Turk's ramparts,
And under Matthias's grim army
Vienna's proud fortress groaned.
Ah, but for our sins
Anger kindled in Your breast,
And You struck with Your lightning
From Your thundering cloud.
Now the plundering Mongol's arrows
You sent whistling over us,
Then the Turkish yoke of slavery
We took upon our shoulders.
How often from the lips
Of Osman's savage people,
Over the bone-heaps of our beaten army,
Rang the song of victory!
How often your own son rose
Against your breast, my fair homeland,
And because of your offspring you became
The funeral urn of your offspring!
The hunted one hid, and even
Into his cave the sword reached out,
He looked all around and could not find
His home within the homeland.
He climbs the mountain, descends the valley,
Sorrow and despair beside him,
A flood of blood beneath his feet
And a sea of flame above.
A castle stood, now a heap of stones,
Joy and gladness once took wing,
Now the rattle of death and lament
Roll on in their place.
And ah, freedom does not bloom
From the blood of the dead,
The tears of tormenting slavery fall
From our orphans' burning eyes!
Pity, O God, the Hungarians
Tossed about by perils,
Extend a protecting arm to them
Over the sea of their anguish.
Those whom ill fate has torn apart for long,
Bring them a joyful year,
This people has already atoned
For the past and future!
